The
district level inauguration of 'Vayanakkalari', an initiative of
Malayala Manorama, was organized at the college auditorium on 16th
July 2015, jointly by Literary club and Reader's club. Vayanakkalari
is an initiative of Malayala Manorama to inculcate and enhance the
reading skills of students at school and college level. As part of
this initiative, Malayala Manorama has been contributing copies of
the daily to the students with the help of a sponsor.

T S of III BA Literature welcomed the gathering. Dr. Sr. Janat
Augustine delivered the presidential address. I DC students were
briefed about 'Vayanakkalari' by Sree. T M Binoy, Senior Executive,
Circulation, Malayala Manorama. Sree E. T Kuruvila, Managing Director
of Alleppey Parcel Service and ex-counselor of Alappuzha
Municipality, formally inaugurated the function and delivered the
inaugral address. Sree E. T Kuruvila has been sponsoring 30 copies of
the newspaper for the students since 2 years. He was kind enough to
raise the number of copies to 40 this year, which was to be
distributed to each class daily. Dr. P. S. Jothilekshmi, Head of the
Department of Malayalam, addressed the gathering and advised the
students to make best possible use of the opportunity. Farsana A
Noushad of I BA Literature proposed the vote of thanks.
